A continuous program based on movement & education that
advances students based on the skills they build.
Ages: 5 - 11
GymKidz's gymnastics program offers a comprehensive developmental pathway starting from age 5 through more advanced, non-competitive, recreational levels. The program begins with foundational skills in their Beginning Gymnastics classes, where students learn basic gymnastics elements like rolls, handstands, cartwheels, and vault approaches. As students progress through Intermediate & Advanced classes, they advance to more complex skills including walkovers, handsprings, and specialized tumbling techniques. The program also features squad-based training opportunities that emphasize teamwork and skill development in a supportive, recreational environment. This structured progression allows young gymnasts to develop their abilities at an appropriate pace while building confidence, strength, and coordination through fun, age-appropriate gymnastics instruction.
Ready to flip, tumble, and soar? Join our gymnastics adventure where young athletes discover the thrill of movement across all four events! From mastering that perfect cartwheel on floor to conquering your first handstand, students will build ninja-like balance on beam, swing into action on bars, and launch confidently over the vault.
Begin actual gymnastics skills on floor, beam, bars, and vault including forward rolls, cartwheels, beam walks, and basic vaulting while developing spatial and directional awareness.
Our intermediate gymnastics class for ages 5-7 is designed for young gymnasts with prior experience who are ready to advance their skills on all four events - vault, bars, beam, and floor. Students will build upon their foundational movements while learning more challenging skills like back walkovers, cast to horizontal, and low beam routines in a structured, encouraging environment.
Our intermediate gymnastics class for ages 6-8 is perfect for experienced gymnasts ready to tackle more advanced skills across vault, bars, beam, and floor. Students will work on connecting skills, improving form, and mastering intermediate elements like back handsprings, pullover on bars, and confident beam work while building strength and precision.
Our intermediate gymnastics class for ages 9+ is designed for older gymnasts with prior experience who are ready to refine their technique and learn advanced skills across all four events. Students will focus on perfecting form, building competitive-level skills like back tucks, kip ups, and complex beam sequences while developing the strength and mental focus needed for higher-level gymnastics.
Recreational gymnastics starts at 5 years old and goes through 11 years of age. Students are encouraged to enter into GymKidz's recreational gymnastics programs at any age along the way.
Absolutely! The GymKidz Recreational Gymnastics Program is perfect for beginners, and our Beginner level (ages 5-11) requires no prior experience at all. You never know how good you are at gymnastics until you try, and it's such a fun and rewarding sport that builds confidence, strength, and coordination. We encourage kids to join at any age along the way, so your child can jump right in and discover their potential while having a blast learning new skills!
Yes, gymnastics is safe when taught properly with qualified instructors and appropriate safety measures in place! Our experienced coaches prioritize safety by teaching proper technique, using progressive skill development, and maintaining a secure environment with quality equipment and safety mats. Like any physical activity, there's always some risk involved, but our structured approach focuses on building strength and skills gradually to minimize injury while maximizing the fun and benefits of this amazing sport!
Gymnastics classes are 1 hour long, which is the perfect amount of time for kids to learn new skills, practice techniques, and have fun without getting too tired! This timeframe allows our instructors to provide a well-rounded class that includes warm-up, skill development, and cool-down activities. One hour gives students plenty of opportunity to progress and enjoy gymnastics while maintaining their focus and energy throughout the entire session!
Gymnasts should wear comfortable, form-fitting athletic clothing that allows for free movement - like leggings or athletic shorts with a fitted t-shirt or tank top. Hair should be securely pulled back and out of the face, and gymnasts should come barefoot for the best grip and safety on equipment. Avoid loose clothing, jewelry, or anything that could get caught on equipment, and make sure your gymnast is dressed to move, stretch, and have fun!
