Recreational Gymnastics

GymKidz's gymnastics program offers a comprehensive developmental pathway starting from age 5 through more advanced, non-competitive, recreational levels. The program begins with foundational skills in their Beginning Gymnastics classes, where students learn basic gymnastics elements like rolls, handstands, cartwheels, and vault approaches. As students progress through Intermediate & Advanced classes, they advance to more complex skills including walkovers, handsprings, and specialized tumbling techniques. The program also features squad-based training opportunities that emphasize teamwork and skill development in a supportive, recreational environment. This structured progression allows young gymnasts to develop their abilities at an appropriate pace while building confidence, strength, and coordination through fun, age-appropriate gymnastics instruction.

Advanced Gymnastics

Length: 1 hour

This program is designed for young gymnasts who have mastered intermediate skills and are ready for more challenging progressions. Students work on advanced elements across all four events - developing proper form in tumbling sequences and cartwheels on floor, learning supported vaulting techniques with running approaches, building upper body strength through hanging and casting movements on bars, and practicing balance skills and poses on low & high beam. The class emphasizes building the strength, flexibility, and coordination needed for more serious gymnastics while maintaining age-appropriate instruction and a focus on safety. Students should have previous gymnastics experience and have a coach's recommendation before enrolling in this level.
